How To Setup Tips in emily
In this help article, we will show you how to use tipping functionality
In emily, there are 2 methods to accept and document tips from patients
- Invoice – clinic users can enter tip amounts directly onto the invoice and then take payment for the full amount.
- PinPad – you can add tipping functionality to the pin pad so when patients use the pinpad to pay, they will see a tip option which is customizable to your clinic. You have up to 3 percentage or dollar values for tips and there is always a custom option for patients to leave any amount/percent that they choose. Keep in mind that if you are going to use a patients card on file to take payment, this method of tipping will not work as the patient is not going to be using the pinpad. You can still take a tip though using the Invoice option above.
Invoice
Follow Steps 1, 2, 3 to add tips to an invoice. You can add multiple tips for multiple staff members if desired.
PinPad
In Settings>Clinic>emilyPay Tab, bottom left of the screen you can customize tips that are sent to the pinpad for patients to enter their own tip amounts.
Here is what it looks like on the pinpad from the patients point of view for percentage and dollar amount respectively.
