Dr Craig Crippen, MD CCFP FCFP

Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Dr. Crippen attended three Canadian universities and earned four academic qualifications, including his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). Since graduating in 2001, he has continued to advance his expertise, with a strong focus on Medical Aesthetics and Laser Medicine. After receiving his M.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2001, Dr. Crippen completed his Family Medicine specialty training at the University of Manitoba over the following two years. Since 2003, he has worked extensively in both public and private healthcare. In response to increasing demand, he now dedicates his practice exclusively to cosmetic skin treatments at his clinic in Kelowna. Dr. Crippen is a fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, a diplomate of the American Board of Phlebology, and a former fellow of the Canadian Society of Phlebology. He has trained alongside leading physicians in laser medicine and visited medical laser clinics across North America and Europe to further expand his knowledge. Dr. Crippen believes that great physicians should never stop learning. As a speaker at national medical conferences, former Chair of the Dermatology Committee at the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and medical student educator within UBC's Faculty of Medicine, he is passionate about sharing his expertise and educating others about the treatments and services he provides. Most recently, he presented at the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (CSAPS) annual meeting in Toronto on photography for plastic surgeons and its integration with EMR systems, and delivered a dedicated webinar on the same topic to the full CSAPS membership. He will be returning as a presenter at the CSAPS annual meeting in Vancouver, BC this coming November. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Crippen enjoys athletics and outdoor activities, including running and strength training. He is also an accomplished musician, having completed conservatory piano training in his early years before taking up the trumpet in high school.
